A further question has now arisen. Appended is a

copy of Section 16 of the "Companies Amendment Ordinance,

1913".

In view of the small number of possible auditors, and

the difficulty of providing for places at a distance from

Shanghai, of which the Fegistrar of Companies will have no

personal knowledge I personally think Article 9 is the most

practical solution of the question.

There is no objection in principle to the adoption

of the list system, but power must be given to the Court to

appoint a british subject outside the list when it is

necessary to do so, otherwise things may get hung up.

In either case a modification of Article 9 is wanted

to bring us into conformity with the new section.
